“Acta Medica Transilvanica” is a bilingual (Romanian-English) medical journal published quarterly, classified by CNCSIS (National Council for Scientific Research in Higher Education), which belongs to the B+ category and is registered in the Nomenclature of the Medical Journals accredited by the Romanian College of Physicians. The articles published in this medical journal will receive 80 credits per each article. Regarding the articles with more than one author, the score is percentagely divided to the number of the authors. The physicians who benefit from a subscription are entitled to 5 credits/year subscription.
Important!
- Acta Medica Transilvanica journal promotes the medical research, especially the results obtained within the national and international research projects, as well as the contributions of different personalities of the medical academic field.
- The articles will be exclusively sent by accessing “Submit an Article” section on www.amtsibiu.ro.
- Only original articles will be accepted, which have never been published elsewhere integrally or partially.
- The articles will be published only after having been submitted to the two stages of the peer-review process. For more information, please visit the section “Peer-review process”.
- The authors whose articles were rejected following the peer-review process, or which need amendments, will be informed in writing, at the e-mail address mentioned in the moment of submitting the article.
- The articles’ registration for publishing will be made after the payment of the subscription or of the additional tax by each author or co-author.
- The articles will be integrally edited in the Romanian and English languages. The translations into the English language will be made by qualified persons: translators, English teachers.
- Authors are exclusively liable for the statements made in the text.
- The Editorial Board is entitled to refuse to publish those articles that do not observe the recommendations provided in the “Instructions for authors” section.
- Only those articles that observe the criteria mentioned in the “Peer-review process” will be published.
Preparing the manuscripts:
- The articles will be exclusively sent by accessing “Submit an Article” section on www.amtsibiu.ro.
- The manuscripts will be edited in Word format, Times New Roman / 12-point. / 1½ spaces / Romanian language characters. Pages numbering should start from the title page.
- The articles should comprise 4-5 images, graphics at maximum. These will bear titles and will be numbered according to the text specifications. Images with text, graphics with text or scanned tables will not be accepted.
- The tables will be numbered with Arabic numerals on their first appearance in the text and will bear a clear and concise title mentioned above them.
- Regarding the images containing human faces, a black strip will be placed on the eyes of the patient, in order to prevent his/her identification. The name of the patients will be abbreviated with his/her initials.
- For the prospective, experimental studies, involving humans, the consent of the ethics committee of the institution which approved the study will be enclosed.
- Acronyms will be explained on their first appearance in the text.
General structure of the articles:
1.The title page will comprise:
- tile of the article;
- first name and name of the authors (as well as their institutional affiliation, postal address, phone number, e-mail, address where to send the journal);
- abstract of the article in the Romanian and English languages;
- keywords in the Romanian and English languages. For each paper, 2-5 keywords will be selected from the Index Medicus medical subjects or terms used in the manuscript.
- the abstract will not exceed 150 words;
2. The contents of the article will not exceed 6 pages for the clinical aspects section, 4 pages for the general essays and public health and management section and 1 page for reviews, information, reports. It will include:
- introduction – that will emphasise the importance of the approached theme; aim, objective or the research hypothesis;
- material and method – this section will describe the research methodology used, the selection method of the studied batches, the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the method, the technique and the statistical programme used in data processing and interpretation;
- results – in this section, the authors will present the results obtained, usually by tables and graphics, accompanied by their interpretation;
- discussions – the new and important aspects of the study will be presented, as well as the interpretation of the personal results within the context of the specialized literature;
- conclusions – the conclusions of the study will be clearly stated, establishing a link between these ones and the purposes of the study.
3. The references list
Acta Medica Transilvanica journal requests the authors to strictly observe the Vancouver referencing style. For more details, please consult the journal’s site: www.amtsibiu.ro, “Writing a bibliography or list of references” section.
The reference list will be listed in the same order that they have been cited in the text. When mentioning references in the text, these will be placed in round brackets immediately after the full stop. The author, title, edition, place of publication, publisher, page numbers will be provided, according to the reference source (book, journal article, web site). See the example below. The language used in editing the reference list will be identical with that used by the cited source. Example: Russel FD, Coppell AL, Davenport AP. Payment conditions for the year 2010:
- physicians - yearly subscription 150 RON and half-yearly subscription 90 RON, for each author or co-author;
- retired physicians and residents - yearly subscription 130 RON and half-yearly subscription 70 RON;
- the payment of the year subscription includes the publication of two articles as main author or co-author in different issues of the journal;
- the half-yearly subscription entitles the author, co-author, to publish one article;
- for each extra article, accepted to be published, an additional tax in quantum of 90 RON will be paid by each author or co-author;
- the payment will be made at the editorial office or by Post-Office order at the address of the editorial office, in the attention of Mrs. Ioana Stroia;
- journal distribution towards subscribers will be made personally or by mail, at the mentioned address. Upon the subscriber’s request, the costs for re-sending the journal will be borne by this one.
