Acta Medica Transilvanica journal was launched in 1996 by the Health Services and Management Medical Centre of Sibiu (today’s Public Health Centre of Sibiu) and it has been ever since a medical journal, widely read at national and international level, due to the existence of articles bearing the signature of different foreign authors.
The aim of the journal was to promote the medical research, especially to stimulate and support the young generation of research physicians. The journal has been structured in three sections since its foundation. First, there were public health scientific studies, clinical and populational studies and points of view. Today’s structure also comprises three sections: public health and management, clinical aspects and essays. Starting with the year 2008, the journal is published as a bilingual edition (Romanian/English). The journal targets all professionals of the medical field and those of the medical higher education, who wish to express their points of view or to communicate the results of their research activity. Nowadays, Acta Medica Transilvanica is classified by CNCSIS (National Council for Scientific Research in Higher Education), in the B category and is registered in the Nomenclature of the Medical Journals accredited by the Romanian College of Physicians. The articles published in this medical journal will receive 80 credits per each article. The physicians who benefit from a subscription are entitled to 5 credits/year subscription. Thanks to the combined efforts of the members of the Editorial Board and to the collaboration and support of the “Victor Papilian” Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Sibiu and of the College of Physicians of the county of Sibiu, we aim at including the journal in the upper levels regarding the classification made by CNCSIS, as well as its coverage in well known international databases, as a contribution to the process of scientific research at local and regional level. |
